WYSIWYG becomes WYSIWYNG.

Soon window views could be  substituted with screens, so that poorly sited hotels can display their iconic views in less well situated rooms.  This is progress as rainy days are banished and beautiful sunsets always  accessible. This is available technology now, all it needs is some video cameras, a recording facility and LED screens  substituted for windows.  One could see how the cruising industry experience could be enhanced for the "insider" cabins.

Now take this  perfectly  simple and  legitimate  procedure  legitimately  advertise the perfect view from the top of the Shard or the Victoria Falls.

A new thought WYSIWYG is now WYSIWYNG (What you see is what you've not got).

Google Glass a Brave New World for Training

Google Glass spells a new era for Industry and Retail training making induction and skills training more personal and verifiable.
Soon your trainer will sit on your nose and whisper in your ear. You will produce a portfolio to show your skills without writing a word. Verification is simpler, standards can be monitored as well as the elimination of much of the peripatetic assessor role. Faster, more personal and cheaper to deliver skills training and monitoring.

TRIZ - turning a Negative into a Positive

While in China last week I went to a very busy Stew Pot restaurant in Shanghai. It's fully booked about 2 to 3 days before. However they manage the turnaround and have a wait area for those who just might get a table. They have a great idea to keep these people there. They supply all those waiting with origami projects - each competed model is worth a given discount on their meal. Groups of youngsters are there busily folding paper for a couple of hours to get a big discount.
I teach the use of TRIZ for innovation - it has 40 rules - of which one is "Turning lemons into lemonade" - this is an example.
